Liquan joined the ranks of the world's billionaires as chairman of his security and surveillance equipment firm Zhejiang Dahua Technology, whose shares soared significantly. More precisely, his shares in the company have more than doubled in the past year as sales in the first nine months of 2013 increased by half to $353.7 million, leading to a substantial increase in net profits by 85% to $60.8 million.
