Vladimir Iorich is a Russian-born German businessman who has a net worth of $1.4 billion. Mr. Iorich has acquired the bulk of his fortune through his investments in the steel and mining industry. Initially, he was a majority shareholder in Mechel AOA, a Russian steel and mining company run by billionaire Igor Zyuzin.
But a fierce 2007 dispute made Iorich sell his shares to Zyusin for around $1.3 billion. Thus, he went on to set up Pala Investments in Zug, Switzerland. The company is also said to own several mining outfits in Sierra Leone, Canada and Australia.
