Yan Zhi is a Chinese entrepreneur who has a net worth of $1.2 billion. Yan Zhi made his fortune in real estate as the founder and chairman of Zall Development of Wuhan. Even though as a teen he longed to become a writer, Zhi went on to take his Master of Business Administration degree from Wuhan University. It was after a stint in the advertising business that he took the plunge in real estate, setting up Zall Development in 2005.
The company has since seen a constant growth and it went public in Hong Kong in July 2011. Apart from Zall, Zhi also chairs the Hong Kong-listed CIG Yangtze Ports and holds a share in Wuhan Hanshang, a department store operator. Furthermore, he is a vice chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Industry & Commerce, and a representative of the Hubei Provincial People's Congress.
