He first made his wealth with the trade and manufacture of a fertilizer in the former Soviet Union, where he still owns IBE Trade, one of the world's largest traders of ammonium-based fertilizer. Then, he made a sensible decision investing his initial fortune in real estate. Now he owns over 30 investment properties, mostly apartment buildings in New York City.
Born in 1953 in Carpathia, Rovt graduated from the Lvov State University of Trade and Economics with a degree in business, and later received a PhD in international economics. Before migrating to New York, he oversaw a classy Hungarian resort in the U.S.S.R.
