A former civil engineer, Thongma Vijitpongpun founded the Pruksa Real Estate, a builder and developer of townhouses, housing estates and condos, in 1993. He entered the circle of world's richest people as Pruksa's stock price recovered after their decline in 2011, when more than 100 of its projects on the outskirts of Bangkok were hit by floods.
