Returning to Earth would be nothing without a warm welcome from (wo)man’s best friend.
Heartwarming footage captured the moment stranded Boeing Starliner astronaut Sunita Williams received a joyous reunion with her excited dogs after being stuck in space for 264 days.
Williams and fellow astronaut Barry “Butch” Wilmore finally departed the International Space Station, where they were stuck for more than nine months, and returned to Earth on March 18.

Following some medical testing, William was finally cleared to return to her Needham, Massachusetts home — where she was reunited with her two adorable Labradors.
The sweet footage, shared by Williams on social media with the caption “Best homecoming ever,” shows the astronaut leaning forward to greet the ecstatic pups, asking them in a sugary voice, “You know who I am?! You know?”
The two pooches, a yellow lab and black lab, can be seen in the clip excitedly wagging their tails and running around their beloved owner.
Williams calls out to them to “Get over her!” and the dogs come running back, tails wagging furiously while they rub against her leg and sniff her.
At one point, the yellow lab jumps, seemingly trying to kiss Williams, while the other pup goes to fetch a stick that he then parades around her — prompting her to accuse her precious pooch of “showing off.”
Social media users gushed over the charming reunion, which was reposted by both NASA and SpaceX founder Elon Musk.
